Since we're such puppy penny pinchers (look at that alliteration!) over in the Two Grad Students home, I can't believe we don't brush Havi's teeth! Brushing her teeth would save money in the long run, as opposed to getting it done at the vet. We give Havi a good bath once a month, complete with paw moisturizer and ear wash. So why doesn't DENTAL Student brush her teeth?!
About two months ago we asked everyone for advice on the best toothpaste/wipes/brush, etc. You all had a different opinions! Well $5.42 on PetDental via Amazon Prime later, our biscuit flavored tooth brush arrived.
DS played with Havi and the toothbrush for a while, nervous she wouldn't like the brush. But what did our pup do?! Just laid down and let us brush her!

omg that first pic made me giggle out loud! Every morning after breakfast both Pug and Maize get their teeth brushed. Pug also gets mouth wash after every meal as well, his teeth are alien like.

ReplyDeleteUhmmmm...well, abouts that. My mom's always like, "Oh, I need to start brushing your teeth." And I'm always like, "okay, that's kinda weird but sure." And mom's always like, "Welll, maybe we'll start later." Maybe I oughta tell her about that brush you're using.

I have been wondering about brushing my dogs teeth as well. I am going to have to get that!! Thanks for spreading it. We give him dental bones now, and it works wonders on him not getting bad breath, but I really dont want to pay for the bills of getting them cleaning after all the plaque is built up on them.. Havi is adorable and she looks like she is enjoying it.. Or is completely unsure of how to react.. Lol. .

ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I have just learned so much! First, biscuit flavor toothbrush? Yes, please. Second, Havi is in the bathtub - less mobility. When I try to brush Reggie's teeth, I have to pretend that I'm non-chalantly petting him, then I dive in with the brush. He'll sit for few seconds and then dash away.
