  1. You don't want to know how we did this month...we had a week at doggie day care, annual pet insurance and our monthly walks. Whoops!!!

Not sure if Havi's stomach can handle it, but we've been buying Izzy shin bones from the butcher. I boil them for a few minutes and then she goes to town. She loves the marrow and they last forever. Usually cost a few bucks, if that. Trying to think of what store in NYC might have a butcher though....

  2. You guys rock. Unfortunately I spent more on just one of Billy's surprise January vet visits than you did for the whole month. Sigh. I always tell people that if they can't afford a dog then they should foster - One Tail at a Time pays for EVERYthing (you can even claim mileage if you have to drive the dog somewhere) so all you need to do is open up your home and offer up a little patience.

  3. Wow, you guys are amazing. I just sent this link to K. We try very hard to be good about money, but I always screw it up (see my last post). :) Thanks for this series -- I love it!

  4. This month I was not very careful, especially about the raw food. I got a little too excited about trying new things. But other than Skye's meds, we didn't have any vet costs! I can't believe it! Luckily, I just found a butcher near me that sells chicken backs for $0.29/lb- winner! It's looking like February will be much less costly... I hope.
