Lincoln Lawyer

As you can see via the cool GoodReads widget at the right, I have read 14 of my 36 books to read by the end of the year!

I just finished Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. I started reading it because my favorite Study Partner recommended it. Apparently, it was also a movie, but it was in theaters during finals so I had no idea!

I really enjoyed the fast-paced nature of the novel. It's told from the point of view of a defense lawyer. Which is coincidentally what I want to be when I grow up! The novel revolves around a lawyer's crisis of faith in the system and a murder mystery. Its a relatively easy read, which is good because I did not want to put it down!

I recently saw the movie which was good, the books are usually even better :)

The Book of Joe

Really a great read, so happy I found this author. He always looks at the most simple of lives, and shows that there is always a tint of drama. Reads too fast though.

Second Glance

Everyone had a negative opinion going into this book. But, if you look passed the obvious fluff of a Jodi book and the whole ghost thing. As always, it is a quick read with a lot of research, which makes it fun and credible.

Wherever You Go: A Novel

this was a too-fast read that never resolved all its problems. it was highly unlikely and not intellectually stimulating.

by Dara Horn

Took me a while to get into, then i LOVED it! Interesting way the book came full circle.

a book about a family's journey. a little too fluffy at times.

I think this was a gripping book about a feral child and his mother. Not for the faint of heart!

Second time i read this book. No one writes about the strength of the Jew better than Uris. Great read on the Warsaw Ghetto uprising.

by Golda Meir

This book was a great first hand account from someone who lived through the first years of Israel as a state. Her insight and candor is endearing.

Eat, Pray, Love

by Elizabeth Gilbert

I feel that this book was a "must to read" but had a hard time getting through it and heard the same from friends. However, in the end, I believe it was worth it.
